Additional Coverage — Auto Insurance Policy Endorsements
Sometimes you need a little extra assurance when insuring your car. An endorsement is simply a document used to amend your car insurance policy to better meet your individual needs. With ERIE’s auto policy, the following policy endorsements are available for an additional cost or premium:
- Road Service – This coverage reimburses you for reasonable towing and required labor costs at the site of breakdown when your car or vehicle is disabled. (Restrictions apply in North Carolina.)
- Death and disability benefits – This option provides additional death and/or disability benefits should an insured die or become disabled as a result of a car accident.
- Transportation expenses (comprehensive) – Transportation expenses, including the cost of a car rental, are covered should your auto become disabled from a comprehensive loss. Basic limits are included in your auto policy if you purchase comprehensive coverage for your car. Higher limits are available for an additional charge by adding this endorsement to your policy.
- Transportation expenses (collision) – If purchased, this endorsement provides optional transportation expenses, including the cost of a car rental, should your auto become disabled due to a collision loss (included in Virginia at no additional cost).
Other Car Insurance Policy Endorsements
ERIE’s Auto Enhancement Endorsement also provides additional transportation expense coverage. When this coverage is applied to a total loss, for example, ERIE will pay up to five additional days of transportation expenses after the loss settlement.
The New Auto Security Coverage Endorsement protects your new vehicle against depreciation for up to two years.
